A gastronomic tavern with a very personal concept of tapas was born three years ago in Avilés (Asturias). The success of its creators, chef Fran Heras –he has worked with Ferran Adrià, Ramon Freixa, Sergi Arola, Angel Palacios or Jean-Luc Figueras- and his partner Eva Arbonés –maîre responsible for the place’s great in interior design- has led to the opening, in the end of 2012, of a new Llamber- this is how their two restaurants are called- in the heart of Barcelona’s Born. The restaurant is committed to seasonality, sustainability and proximity in order to offer honest cuisine with utmost respect for the product (most of which is from Asturias). The menu presents miniature haute cuisine with original and creative dishes that boast stunning presentations and moderate prices. The space, located in an old fruit warehouse, is a modern version of the typical Spanish tavern and welcomes us in a modern, casual and warm atmosphere, ideal to share a good time with the best company. The wine cellar has more than 30 different labels by the glass and about 150 labels.

Webflakes food & dining :
Ever since Llamber opened in Barcelona, after its success in Avilés, there has been a procession of journalists and articles that, generally speaking, gave their approval of this gourmet tavern.... The menu’s dishes and “tapas” (snacks) are made to match a diner’s expectations of perfection: quality products in a warm environment, at an acceptable price. Logically the menu had no shortage of cheeses of all kinds, potatoes with “cabrales” sauce, angler fish, chorizo cooked in cider, scorpion fish pie with tartar sauce, a buttery “fabada” with its meaty accompaniment that you’ll eat until you resemble a boa constrictor, escallops with “cabrales” sauce, rice with milk and spicy cheeses from Asturias, all of them evoking butter, caverns, prairies, and rain...

OK Visit
Lets face it, when most tourists come to Spain, they're looking to have at least one fantastic tapas experience. Not only does this restaurant offer just that, but it's also located in the ever-trendy Born district of Barcelona. It's a very creative style of tapas that actually makes more traditional styles of tapas look quite boring. Add this one to your list!

Time Out
This one is a gastrobar, or it may be more correct to call it a tapas restaurant with a distinctly Asturian flavour. The menu is very personal and creative, and there's no fussy messing-about with molecules. Try the anchovies with sweet bread and Asturian cheese, or an amazing octopus au gratin with smoked cheese. There's also a vast selection of wines by the glass to fit all budgets.

In 2001, Cata 1.81 was born to become the perfect place to enjoy wine. Today, the cuisine of this space run by Santi Olivella falls short of its fantastic wine cellar, which includes about 400 references. The menu offers excellent cuisine, creative and quality in the form of tapas and dishes, keep abreast of cutting-edge trends and based on Catalan cuisine, although there are some proposed standard size. In addition, there are three very interesting tasting menus.
Cata 1.81 welcomes us, after the remodeling it has undergone in mid-2011, in a larger space and an atmosphere perfect for quiet evenings either for couples and groups (the restaurant has actually a private room for 20 people).

Cata 1.81 is a tiny tapas bar recognized by the splendid wine selection. The tapas served as platillos (group dishes) are incredible and imaginative.
We recommend the degustation menu containing 7 tapas and 2 desserts. A nice way to check the latest trends of the house…

There is no doubt that Tortillería Flash Flash is, regardless of gastronomic and aesthetic preferences, a special place.
Born at the beginning of the seventies and located on the north side of Diagonal Avenue -meaningful information not only concerning its geographical location but also its social status-, the restaurant still has all its charm, that owes entirely to an elegant, eye-catching decor in black and white, even after more than thirty years of history.
In a really retro atmosphere that holds on to its seventies roots, we will be able to choose among some 70 different kinds of omelette, that share the responsability of being the house's speciality with the famous hamburgers. Omelettes aside, the menu is considerably extensive and includes a large salad bufet, fish from Palamós and begetables, as well as dishes of the day.
Even though it's true that some may consider prices a bit to excessive for such an offer, the quality of the dishes and the charm of the environment are more than a fact.

Owned by Leopoldo Pomés, a well known 70’s photographer, this well priced but chic “tortilleria” it’s a real social phenomenon in Barcelona: everybody goes, from the young architect or the business man to the next building worker…
Paintings from Karin Leiz, Pomés wife and the equivalent to Twiggy hang on the walls.
It offers an incredible 70 different tortilla styles (omelet), try the Tortilla Catalana, a great salad bar, hamburgers ( try the Cadillac) and the daily dishes…Count some 22€.

Frommer's
Hamburgers, steaks, salads, and 70 types of tortillas are served up in a pop-art setting of funky black-and-white murals and white leather banquettes. Flash-Flash was opened in 1970 and the interior hasn't been altered since. The Twiggy-like model adorning the walls was the wife of Leopoldo Pomés, a well-known fashion photographer and part owner. Decor aside, the food is very good; the tortillas fly out fresh and fluffy and the bunless burgers are some of the best in town. It's a favorite with uptown business types, some of whom have been coming here since the place opened.

Barcelona Metropolitan
In the Sixties, two good friends—an architect and a publicist—agreed a common goal: to open a restaurant with great food and where everything, absolutely everything, was in favour of the client, with no exceptions. Now Flash Flash is a major Barcelona gastronomic landmark, aiming for the best of history, design, glamour and modernity, as well as great food.
Today, Flash Flash appeals to an eclectic crowd: businessmen, writers and journalists, solo diners who read the newspaper while eating, young and cool artists, architects and musicians, and parents with children. All feel welcome and comfortable in Flash Flash.
The wide-ranging menu is very different from what you are used to seeing elsewhere, with excellent tortillas, hamburgers and daily specials. Everything is prepared with the original philosophy of 40 years ago: fresh produce and great ingredients. The menu is different every day—and full of seasonal ingredients—and always growing and changing according to the trends and tastes of the moment.
Flash Flash is open every day of the week, with the kitchen running from 12.30pm to 1.30am, without interruption.

Flash Flash Restaurant is a restaurant with fresh market cuisine. It opened its doors in the 70's, in the glamorous gouche divine.Original and modern, with striking decor, an informal atmosphere and all sorts of people. Their speciality has always been omelettes, but the menu is large.

Barcelona Guide
White leather banquettes and walls and black stylized figures in the entrence. Flash Flash has been a design classic since its opening day 1970. This is a tortilleria and their specialities are a variation of 60 or so, Spanish omeletts, tortillas and other fast food dishes like the divine Cadillac Hamburger and salads. No reservation is possible. Meanwhile you are waiting for a table, try out the Flash Flash cocktails and absorb the charm of this place.

Nile Guide
This restaurant was opened in the 1970s and it is still as great as it was on the first day. As specialties, they have on offer a wide variety of wonderful omelettes, as well as simple dishes cooked with great care. They serve cheesecakes, fish, salads, hamburgers, soups and set meals, amongst many others. Good lighting and full of informal and colorful customers, the place is a meeting point for friends. There is not much more to say except, give it a try!

60 x 80
Flashback would be a more appropriate name, because this is like stepping into the 70s. As it is, the name refers to the flashes of the photographers outlined in black silhouettes on the white walls (in fact, everything is white here), left unchanged since the place opened back in 1970. The thing to order here is a hamburger (patty only, no need to watch your carbs) or an omelette – this being a tortilleria specialising in these things after all. Flush it down with a cocktail and observe the Almodóvar-esque señoras.

Spotted by Locals
I love this restaurant both for the food and the decoration. Opened in 1970, it keeps the same kind-of-pop style: it is all painted in white, with the image of a young female photographer on every wall. The wall lamps are actually the flash light of her painted camera.
Some people go there because of the hamburgers as they are supposed to be some of the best in the city, even though they are served with no bun. Their secret is that the meat is mixed with capers, and that offers a very peculiar flavour.
But what I really like about this place is the variety of omelettes to choose from: over 70. Yes, you got it right: 70!!! They seem to be able to cook anything with beaten eggs. My first choice, in winter, is the artichoke one (they only serve it when the veggie is in season). The spring baby garlic and the eggplant ones are great too, as well as the cod omelette. Of course they also have the typical Spanish omelette with potatoes, and some with cheese, sausage or even a tasting option with some of them in one dish.
One more great thing about the place: you can eat there almost anytime, as they don’t close in the afternoon as most local places do, and they keep the kitchen working until well after midnight.

Bnc Restaurantes :
Located at the top of Las Arenas, Abrassame is without doubt one of the most interesting gastronomic options in the shopping centre that occupies what was once the old bullring. Specialized in seafood, which arrives daily from the fish market and is cooked on the grill or baked, the restaurant’s philosophy is to offer quality products at reasonable prices. The menu also includes a large selection of tapas and plates to share, as well as select meats from Galicia, Asturias and Nebraska. With the open kitchen in the middle of the space, it welcomes us with a modern and warm décor and has a few private rooms ideal for intimate celebrations and a wonderful terrace with spectacular views over the city.
