Bcn Restaurantes
In one of the districts with more history in Barcelona and probably the one that has suffered the greatest changes in the last years, we find El Xampanyet. More than three generations have been in charge of the restaurant, that still today satisfies its varied clientele. The place keeps a decor that commemorates past times and provides it with great personality.
El Xampanyet is a real tapas restaurant. Either at the bar or at the few marbles tables, guests can enjoy delicious tapas with a glass of "xampanyet" the house's foamy white wine. Anchovy tapas are, without a doubt, the speciality of the restaurant.
El Xampanyet is, undoubtedly, unmissable for those who love the tapas atmosphere.

Barcelona.com
El Xampanyet is the bar from El Born district that has been conserved as how real old bars in Barcelona were. It is from the 1929! Its name come from the wine they serve there: a sparkling wine called Xampanyet.
As you know, Barcelona typical old bars where a place to spend time with friends having some tapas and drinking some beer and wine. So it's this place: tapas, cheeses, Jabugo ham and quite a lot of noise due to its small and crouded place, usually.
Excellent quality!! You can't book, so don't be late!

Fodors
Just down the street from the Picasso Museum, hanging botas (leather wineskins) announce one of Barcelona's liveliest and prettiest taverns, usually stuffed to the gills with a rollicking mob of local and out-of-town celebrants. Avoid the oversweet house sparkling wine (go for draft beer, real cava, or wine), but don't miss the pa amb tomaquet (toasted bread with squeezed tomato and olive oil) or the Ibérico ham served on marble-topped tables near walls decorated with colorful ceramic tiles.

Frommer's
This little champagne bar, my favorite in Barcelona, has been operated by the same family since the 1930s. When the Museu Picasso opened nearby, its popularity was assured. On this ancient street, the tavern is adorned with colored tiles, antique curios, marble tables, and barrels. With your sparkling wine, you can order fresh anchovies in vinegar, impressively fat green olives, or other tapas. If you don't want the cava, you can order fresh cider at the old-fashioned zinc bar.

Barcelona Life
If you haven't sampled the delights of Cava, Catalonia's own take on France's Champagne, then here's your chance. El Xampanyet is considered by many to be the best Xampanyeria (Champagne bar) in the city and the Barcelonese pack this place out on the weekends before hitting the clubs. The colourful ceramic tiles are very much in keeping with Barcelona's Modernisme movement, whilst the house Cava, served in litre bottles is a bubbly well worth imbibing. The unfussy tapas is surprisingly delicious and - importantly - keeps you from keeling over. All-in-all a winner. Find it by the Picasso Museum.

Barcelona Guide
This is an old classic bar at Carrer Montcada, near to Picasso Museum with Cava tasting and good tapas.
The place is small and during the evening becomes full of locals standing next to the bar or seating at one of the small marble tables, so you might get into El Xampanyet earlier than locals, before 8.30. Sant Sadurní d'Anoia is a region near to Barcelona popular around the world for the Cava production, such as Codorniu, and other wines. Take the oportunity to taste them at el Xampanyet.

Unlike
El Xampanyet was named after the sparkling white wine that is still jovially served at this charming tapas bar. Run by the same family since 1921, El Xampanyet is currently well into its third generation. The decor is suitably old-fashioned, with countless decorative tiles and antique trinkets completing the traditional experience found here.
El Xampanyet’s tapas are typically Catalan, consisting of staples such as seafood and olives. The house special is a plate of fresh Cantabrian anchovies. The lively atmosphere attracts more than just the local tapas devotees, as plenty of young people turn up in the evening for a pre-club cava or draft beer.

Nile Guide
El Xampanyet is one of the city's liveliest wine bars, and it has been serving some fabulous cavas, fresh cider, anchovies and tapas since the 1930s. Located close to the world-famous Picasso Museum, this place draws a huge number of tourists, who simply adore the lovely atmosphere, the colorful decor and the friendly staff.

Secrets of Barcelona
Not far from the Picasso museum in Spain, sits the bohemian coffee and tapas bar, El Xampanyet. Not only does the mixture of modern blue tiled walls attract a young crowd to this eatery, but the antique artifacts attract an older crowd as well.
At the El Xampanyet you can eat tapas and sip on zinc or cava tea, the ultimate relaxation drink. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city and experience life as one of the locals, than El Xampanyet is just the place to go.

Time Out
The eponymous bubbly is actually a pretty low-grade cava, if truth be told, but a drinkable enough accompaniment to the house tapa; a saucer of Cantabrian anchovies. Lined with coloured tiles, barrels and antique curios, the bar chiefly functions as a little slice of Barcelona history, and has been in the hands of the same family since the 1930s.
