Suquet de l'Almirall is a landmark in La Barceloneta and one of the main attractions on the famous Passeig Joan de Borbó. Quim Marquès, following his family tradition, opened its doors in 1996 and since then has grown to become one of the best restaurants in Barcelona when it comes to fish and seafood.
The restaurant presents a menu that combines traditiona and modernity in perfect balance. Products are top quality and fresh and cooked with respect, and that is obvious in the final result. Rice and noodle dishes, fish and other specialities can be enjoyed a la carte or with any of the three set menus from 30 euros.
The restaurant has a terrace outside on the street and boasts a well selected wine cellar.

Suquet de l'Almirall is specialized in fish and rice dishes. It's a pleasure to appreciate some famous Catalan recipes in this place. Of course, beside many tapas you'll have to try the "Suquet" a kind of a huge bowl of steamed shellfish.
A very nicely decorated place inside and a charming terrace as well. Better book your table if you want to be outside.

On the main artery leading out to Barceloneta beach, this “quiet” Mediterranean is a cut above its neighbors with its “well-prepared fish” and “wonderful ambiance”; coveted seating on the terrace where it’s “especially” nice “on a sunny day” is another plus as are “accessible” prices; P.S. reservations strongly recommended.

Fodors
With a handy terrace for alfresco dining in summer, "The Admiral's Fish Stew" indeed serves fare fit for the highest rank. The jaunty striped awning and sunny yellow walls give it a maritime feel. Specialists in rice dishes and caldoso de bogavante, an abundantly brothy rice dish with lobster, say this is one of Barceloneta's best.

Barcelona Guide
El Suquet de l'Almirall Restaurant is still runned by a friendly family. Best dishes range from xató salad during february and march, black rice arròs negre de Palafrugell and a variety of affordable menus, including a selection of tapas, a gargantuan taster menu, and the pica-pica menu, which includes roast red peppers with anchovies, a bowl of steamed cockles and clams, and a great dish of fideuà with lobster.
