The throne room of Palau Nacional (National Palace) in Montjuïc -where the king Alfonso the 13th inaugurated the 1929 World Exposition- is the privileged scenario that houses the restaurant of the MNAC (National Art Museum of Catalunya), called Òleum.
The restaurant is located in a very special setting, with a modern design and a sober, elegant atmosphere that delights us with impressive views to Barcelona thanks to the huge windows and a panel of titltes mirrors that reflect the city's profile.
The Laie group is in charge of the cuisine since 2009, and presents Mediterranean and Catalan-inspired menu made with a creative touch.
This is definitely a great option when it comes to impressing someone.

Barcelona Guide
Located on the top of Palau Nacional with splendid views across Barcelona. A classic place, newly redecorated with very high sealing, lighth colors, design details like a hugh roof mirror that double the effect of the magnificent views etc. The food is an updated version of traditional Catalan and can include courses like scallops on squid ink noodles with lime foam.

The majestic stairs of the MNAC building overlooking Plaça Espanya make it the perfect spot for a photo op, but Catalan art manages to tempt relatively few visitors to visit the museum itself. Offering something to eat, however, has worked wonders, and Oleum is now one of the museum’s main draws. With no plastic trays or self-service in sight, this is no ordinary museum eatery, but a full-service restaurant set in a spectacular dining room (make sure to explore the rest of the impressive interiors of the museum, too), with wonderful views as well as great food for a lunch date to remember. At night it’s only open for private functions.

Oleum restaurant is located in the emblematic part of Barcelona's Montjuic district, and in particular is on the first floor of the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. They offer sophisticated cuisine and a select wine list.
Oleum restaurant is spacious with exceptional views of Barcelona, which can be enjoyed through their large windows, and reflected and multiplied in the mirrors on the ceiling. They preserved the original decor, but has been updated and complemented with modern furniture and items made from quality materials.

Time Out
Large interior with creative cuisine and a spectacular view. After visiting MNAC, treat yourself to their excellent lunch menu. It’s unusually peaceful here, even for a high-end restaurant. You can enjoy your meal in the company of works by Tàpies.
