Bcn Restaurantes
Born in 1903, Can Solé restaurant is located in the Barceloneta district and boasts about its loyal clientele and the celebrities that visit it. The owner, Josep Maria Garcia, is proud to say that his restaurant has already been run by 4 generations of the same family.
His gastronomic offer is a combination of Catalan, Mediterranean and seasonal cuisine. Quality is always his first principle, and his success is based on traditional recipes, fresh inf¡gredients and a good service.
Can Solé is mentioned in Zagat -a pretigious American guide- and in most of the guides that include the best restaurants (Michelin Guide, Campsa Guide...). Even the New York Times dedicated an article to the restaurant long time ago.
It is also well worth mentioning that Josep Maria is National Prize of Gastronomy, Tourism Honor Plate by Generalitat de Catalunya and member of Chaine des Rotiseurs and Cofradia de l'Arròs del País Valencià.
In short, Can Solé is a restaurant with history that seems to have been there all along, and a safe bet if we want to enjoy a proper meal.
Barcelona Guide
Former fans like Joan Miró used to be a regular at this charming old fisherman's cottage in Barceloneta, which is one of the Classics in Barcelona, since its opening year 1903. On the walls you can still find memories of photos, drawings etc. from important clients. The menu is based on quality seafood, prepared in a traditional way. Enjoy plates of shrimps, all kinds of fish like, wild mackerel, fresh lobster and tasty paellas, like the juicy Can Sole, and their famous oven baked cutllefish with tomato. Exquisite home made deserts.
Time Out
Founded in 1903, Can Solé is one of the city's classic seafood restaurants, with a selection of rice and fideuà (noodles) dishes that is perhaps the most extensive in Barceloneta. Their primary speciality is a creamy rice dish that achieves its most sublime form when made with Norwegian king crab.
