Bcn Restaurantes
With a privileged location in front of the sea, in an area where what we find most are beach bars, Agua impresses us thanks to a wonderful terrace -open in summer- with views to the sea, actually one of the most acclaimed in the area.
It is also well-know because of the quiet and cosy atmosphere and the excellent Mediterranean cuisine and the fantastic fish dishes they prepare. Full of natural light and with a Mediterranean touch, the simple decor is really cosy, with colonial style furniture and warm colours that make of this place a the perfect scenario for any kind of occasion: from couples and groups to business dinners.
The cuisine we are offered here has fish as the main ingredient and is fresh and simple. In the menu we find a large variety of dishes, from "montaditos" and salads to pasta and rice dishes. The wine list includes about fifty labels.

Splendid location with a terrace on the beach not far from the Arts hotel. Agua is part of the successful Tragaluz chain, synonymous of quality.
It offers Mediterranean seafood at its best, specializing in steamed mussels, Norway lobsters au gratin, grilled turbot with noodles cut from squid, a thick steak with red wine gravy, salmon tartare with leeks... Try absolutly the arroces al carbon. As price is very right for the place and the dishes, we recommend you to book...

With views through gnarled and ancient olive trees over the beach into the Mediterranean, this sleek spot hidden "under the boardwalk" near Frank Gehry's gleaming goldfish may not be classical Barceloneta in decor or cuisine, but it's an exciting place to dine. Hit the terrace on warm summer nights or sunny winter days, or just catch rays inside the immense bay windows. Seafood is the main draw and value on the menu here, but risottos, beef, and lamb are also equally available. Expect action, bustle, streamlined design surroundings, beautiful people, and acceptable-if-not-spectacular fare at this very popular tourist favorite. Be sure to reserve in advance.

Frommer's
It bustles, it's hip, and it serves well-prepared fish and shellfish in a hyper-modern setting overlooking the Vila Olímpica beach. A terrace beckons, but if a chilly wind is blowing, retreat into the big-windowed blue-and-yellow dining room and order heaped portions of meats and fish to be grilled over an open fire. Favorite choices include pollo (chicken), pez espada (swordfish), gambas (prawns), and an especially succulent version of calamares rellenos (stuffed squid). They are served with as little culinary fanfare and as few sauces as possible, allowing the freshness and flavor of the ingredients to shine through. Risottos, some studded with fresh almejas (clams) and herbs, are usually winners, with vegetarian versions. The only problem here is popularity; make sure you book on the weekends.

Barcelona Guide
Agua is yet another successful addition to the city's finest eateries by the restaurant group Tragaluz. It has become one of Barcelona's most popular seaside restaurants thanks to its perfect location and quality Mediterranean cuisine. The highlight is its beautiful beachfront terrace right on the boardwalk, but its sunny Colonial style interior is also very inviting. There is almost always a long waiting list for a table so book in advance.
